A Family Camping Weekend
Surrounded by beauty
Stone Reservoir is a magical place to bring your family for a quiet weekend of outdoor fun and exploration. This hidden gem has plenty of opportunities for your family to become enchanted with the outdoors. This kid-friendly body of water is perfect for small paddle boats (3ft max depth).
nature at its finest
It’s also a great place to enjoy fishing, take scenic hikes and all the other fun that camping with your favorite people has to offer. There are two separate campgrounds at Stone, both of which have vault bathrooms and plenty of available camping sites for RV’s or tent campers. There are no hookups or dump sites at this pristine location. Leadore is only 10 miles away and can provide services on your way to or from the campground or even during your stay.
ACCESSIBLE adventure
Access to this campground is easily accomplished from Swan Basin Rd which becomes a dirt road and is slightly bumpy as you approach the National Forest. Careful driving can result in even larger Campers accessing without much problem.
Mountain majesty
Hikes from this location can range from simple treks around the reservoir on an easy foot path or short excursions up little timber creek to more difficult hikes up the surrounding hillsides that lead to rewarding views of high mountain splendor.
This is just one small example of the many options available in the Leadore area for an amazing weekend experience. We want to remind all of our guests to realize that we are surrounded by many acres of public land, much of which is forested. Please exercise extreme cautions when choosing to have a campfire. Never burn when fire restrictions are in effect, always choose a safe area to have your campfire and always make sure its completely extinguished before you leave it.
