Welcome to Leadore, Idaho.

“Small in size but large in heart & character.”

Set in the Lemhi Valley between the majestic Lemhi and Beaverhead mountain ranges, Leadore [lead-or] was originally established in 1910 as a railroad town. The Gilmore & Pittsburg railroad transported ore from the mines at Gilmore to facilities in Montana. Due to Leadore’s proximity to Montana it is truly Idaho’s gateway to the Continental Divide Trail that follows the boundary between the two states for nearly 180 miles. Leadore is also one of Idaho’s favorite hunting spots rich in Elk, Deer, Pronghorn and Moose. Fishing opportunities abound from the Lemhi River (headwater in Leadore) & Salmon River to mountain lakes and reservoirs like Meadow lake, Stone Reservior and even stocked locations like Hayden Ponds (great for children). Recreational visitors have also long admired Leadore and the Lemhi Valley for its abundance of trails for hiking, camping opportunities, high mountain lakes and public access for ATV’s. Last, but not least, we are a ranching community known for producing some of the best beef cattle in the country. Take some time to visit, get to know us and see why we have become a favorite spot for many to come adventure.
