Leadore Emergency Medical Services
Leadore Emergency Medical Services (Leadore EMT) is a nonprofit volunteer organization that serves the greater Leadore community. We respond to 911 calls in our area of responsibility which ranges from the Lemhi County line (37 miles southwest of Leadore) to Hayden Creek Road (19 miles Northwest of town) and includes the remote areas into the mountains on both sides of highway 28. Because of our remoteness and capabilities, we often receive calls from adjacent communities in Idaho and Montana to assist with emergencies.
Our team of 12 licensed EMT’s and Emergency Vehicle Drivers, operate four fully equipped ambulances (three in Leadore and one at Maiers Lane.) We are affiliated with Lemhi County EMS and Lemhi County Search & Rescue in order to be of broader assistance to the greater Lemhi County community.
We also maintain a ready presence at the Leadore Rodeo Arena during all local rodeo events. Our presence and ability to render immediate care for potentially injured contestants are a critical step to ensure that Leadore’s Rodeos are conducted as safely as possible.
Please consider supporting our community by attending our annual fundraiser! It’s a fantastic event held on July 4th. This event includes a Pancake Breakfast featuring our world-renowned homemade rhubarb syrup. No less important (or fun) is our Silent Auction which is well accommodated. Proceeds from this event are crucial for the procurement and upkeep of our equipment and the facilitation of our training. We hope to see you there this year!
We hold an EMT meeting every third Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. The meetings are held at the EMS Building on Galena Street in Leadore.
We facilitate EMT qualification classes in Leadore every 2-3 years and are always looking for new volunteers. This is a purely volunteer organization that depends on help from those that have a desire and capacity to serve this community. If you are interested please consider joining us for our next class.
